Honestly Surprised I'm Not Dead RN
past couple weeks have been absolutely awesome!
-We were biking past this park and we slowed down to watch a soccer game that some guys were playing. The ball rolled out, so the goalie went to grab the ball and kick it and at that point we had stopped completely to watch, and as soon as the goalie kicked the ball the ref blew the whistle blew and it was halftime. we groaned and were like "okay God, we're getting back to work. Sorry we got distracted."
- we did our studies at the cemetery and it was sooooo beautiful for Día de Los Muertos! theres so many orange marigolds and the cemeteries are absolutely covered in just a blanket of orange! we bought some for our apartment! we walked around and talked to the people who were there visiting their family and friends and asked them to share a memory they had of the person and it was so fun and beautiful
- thank you thank you thank you for all the birthday wishes and cards! i felt so loved and hearing from yall made my day so special!
- ive gotten sick maybe once or twice while on my mission but nothing serious enough to take me out of the work. but yall. saturday night i thought i was dying. i was so miserable i felt so sick and was hurting everywhere and thought i was gonna lose everything in my stomach like every 5 minutes. but i had friends to get to church. so i prayed for la ayuda de Dios and was fighting for my life all day. but we had so many friends there so wooooorth it! it was touch and go there for a minute though. thought my companion was gonna have to put me out of my misery
- our friends eduardo and oliberio are working towards baptism! prayers for them as they keep taking steps towards christ!
- did exchanges in SLO in the ysa and it was rad! ysa work is wild
- mlc in oxnard! i love seeing all my mission friends! as zones, we were trying to come up with a baptismal goal for the month of november and our mission president counseled us to all pray as zones and know what we could accomplish with Gods help. so everyone from the Santa Maria zone left the room and we found a place to kneel and ask for Heavenly Fathers guidance. we felt prompted to go in a certain direction and then we offered another prayer to ask if what we were feeling was what God had in store and it was just a really cool and powerful moment to feel the spirit and Gods love and support for the work we're doing.
here's a fire quote for your Monday night (or whenever you read this)
"If you feel unclean, unloved, unhappy, unworthy, or unwhole, remember “all that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.” Have faith and patience in the Savior’s timing and purposes for you. “Be not afraid, only believe”.
Be assured the Savior still seeks to mend our souls and heal our hearts. He waits at the door and knocks. Let us answer by beginning again to pray, repent, forgive, and forget. Let us love God and serve our neighbor and stand in holy places with a life made clean. The impotent man at the pool of Bethesda, the leper along the journey to Jerusalem, and Corrie ten Boom were made whole. “Wilt thou be made whole?” Rise and walk. His “grace is sufficient”, and you will not walk alone."
