Random things i wrote down throughout the past 2 weeks:
- We got to go to the temple again! Normally we only go every 6 months and we just had our temple trip like 2 months ago but our mission president felt strongly impressed to take us again and im so glad he did! I felt so much peace and happiness!
- Zone conference was also rad to see all my mission friends!
- Had exchanges with hna van brocklin and it was so fun to learn from her! she only has one more transfer left so im soaking up all her wisdom while i can! Im at the same mission time right now as she was when i came into the mission which is CRAZY! Had tons of fun and met a lot of really cool people! Also im back on the english class live so we had to teach that
- The members here are awesome but i think my favorite is a man named Raul! Him and i have become fast friends! The thing about raul though is that hes deaf, and doesnt read or know much sign language so you have to communicate through made up gestures! Im not sure how the missionaries taught him but he is so amazing and always smiling! Ive loved getting to know him this past week! He never fails to make me smile! It just shows the spirit speaks all and sometimes no language!
- Me and my comp had the chance to have a companion study with President Rodriguez! Seriously every time i get to talk to him my love and respect for him grows! And for pday him and hermana Rodriguez came and played soccer with us! Which was so fun and my team dominated cause president whipped everyones butts.
- We had 4 people come to church!!
I feel like there was more i was gonna say but now i dont remember. Sorry these emails have really gone down hill since the beginning. But my mom and grandparents yell at me everytime i miss a week so
One of my new favorite byu devotionals is called "Five Messages That All of God’s Children Need to Hear" by Elder Uchtdorf go listen to it!! He says
"When I was an airline captain, I would sometimes fly my Boeing 747 from Germany to the West Coast of the United States. On those flights west, across oceans and continents, the daylight seemed never to end. We took off in Germany at 1:00 p.m., and ten hours later we touched down in California—at 2:00 p.m. the same day! The sun never set on us.
The opposite happened when flying east. Sunset came more quickly than it normally would. Leaving at 1:00 p.m. meant that in just a few hours we were engulfed in darkest night. Yet because of our direction and speed, in a few more hours we found ourselves bathed in blazing and often blinding light.
Whether I traveled west or east, the sun never changed course. It held its position, steadfast in the heavens, providing warmth and light to the earth. My access to that warmth and light depended on my location, direction, and speed. Similarly, God is in His heavens. He never changes. He never retreats. He does not alter His course.
But we do.
We all need God’s light in our lives, and yet we all have periods of time when we feel that we are in darkness—sometimes long periods of time.
