The Nard
buenooooooo!
I got transferred!!!! I am now in la tierra prometida! The promise land! Good ole Oxnard, California!
Packing after 4 months in an area was a STRUGGLE. Did I have to throw my entire body weight on my suitcase to zip it up? Yes, yes I did.
And yes i am literally 20 minutes away from my aunt in camarillo, and my moms here for a graduation and literally drove by the mission office where i was!
I was sad to say goodbye to beautiful SLO and all the amazing people. And the sandwich place.
First day in Oxnard probably the best day of my entire life because I SAW BAGLEY AND WHEATLEY!!!! two former missionaries (my mission mom) and my bestest friends totally surprised me and it was legit a tender mercy from God. I literally launched myself into her arms. So theres lots of pictures with them and if you watch the video: headphone users beware
Oxnard has been an adjustment for sure! Literally like everyone is spanish and im overwhelmed with who to talk to first! We have a whole ward here! Drastic change from the 3 members we had before, theyre all so kind and fun and we had an awesome break the fast after!
We were calling some friends and inviting them to church and this one lady we called said she couldnt make it because her husband had to go to the hospital because he was super super sick! She told us shes so thankful we called because she wanted us to come over and pray for him! So after night church we grabbed our recent convert, who just got the priesthood, and another member to come give him a blessing! The spirit was so so strong and it was such a cool experience!
And for preparation day we went to the SeaBee naval base museum which was actually super cool!
K I'm just gonna end with this quote from Elder Uchtdorf
"The sheep is worthy of divine rescue simply because it is loved by the Good Shepherd.
To me, the parable of the lost sheep is one of the most hopeful passages in all of scripture.
Our Savior, the Good Shepherd, knows and loves us. He knows and loves you.
He knows when you are lost, and He knows where you are. He knows your grief. Your silent pleadings. Your fears. Your tears.
It matters not how you became lost—whether because of your own poor choices or because of circumstances beyond your control.
What matters is that you are His child. And He loves you. He loves His children."
