La Cucaracha

woah 3 weeks in a row? im killing the email game!

i feel like i say this every week but this week was actually loco. i crashed into bed every night as soon as we walked through our door.

highlights
- celebrated hna Demordaunts birthday! ate so much cake this week
- had exchanges with sister myers! shes the cutest ever and we had so much fun and talked to some WEIRD people
-because my comp speaks mixteco we had the awesome chance to be apart of a big event or forum hosted at our church building for the Mixteco community! there is a huge Mixtecan population here that doesnt know about the health resources they have here! we invited everyone and anyone that speaks mixteco and had so many people come! and started teaching so many people! it was really cool and my mission president and i talked about how we're here to help people in any way we can, not just spiritually.
- for our district activity we tie dyed tshirts to wear to our zone activity next week. we're gonna pull up in style pics to come

lowlights
- unfortunately francisco and marisol arent going to keep learning with us. but we’re going to keep praying for them and that the spirit touches their hearts!
- i walked into the church kitchen before turning on the light and heard a giant crunch. we turned on the light and hundreds of cucarachas (cockroaches) went scattering everywhere. youd think id have to be somewhere in the jungle to see bugs like this
- i keep getting sunburnt and los miembros laugh at me and now i look like a leper

aaaaaanyways twas a good crazy week and the work is going good!

also everyone go listen to You Forgot by Ella DeMordaunt its so good

I read this talk and loved this part about remembering who we can become

"Years ago, Sister Wendy L. Watson, now the wife of President Russell M. Nelson, spoke at a BYU devotional. She told a story about a caterpillar named Yellow who was trying to figure out what to do with her life. One day Yellow discovered another caterpillar who seemed to be caught in a mess of thin, hairy fibers. When Yellow asked if she could help, the caterpillar explained that he was making a cocoon so he could become a butterfly.

Yellow had never heard the word butterfly before, but it made something inside her leap. "What is a butterfly?" she asked.

The other caterpillar described the beauty and majesty of a butterfly and explained, "It’s what you are meant to become."

Yellow was skeptical. "How can I believe there’s a butterfly inside you or me when all I see is a fuzzy worm?" But she could not leave the thought alone. “How does one become a butterfly?” she finally asked.

The other caterpillar answered, “You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.”9

With that kind of eternal perspective, you will make choices that help you become who you are meant to become."
