Week……….? I Don’t Even Know Anymore
i swear every week just gets busier and busier!
REPORTE DE MILAGROS
yall miracle report cause God is so good. So about 2 weeks ago we had an AMAZING visit with our friend Antonio! we had an awesome member there who helped us put him on date for baptism and it just was such a good lesson! we planned another lesson with him and the member and then all of a sudden we couldnt get in contact with Antonio!! i was so depressed about it! but we just kept trying to call him and stop by his house for like 2 weeks and then one day we were passing by a bunch of people in this apartment complex and it had been a rough day. just lots of rejection and as we were walking away from the apartments i got a call and i recognized the number! IT WAS ANTONIO!! he apologized cause had to leave town for a work emergency and only brought his work phone! He asked if we had time for a visit and we were bro we're literally at your complex rn on our way. we had the most amazing spiritually visit and hes ready to be baptized soon! hna De and i literally walked away crying we were so happy! God is so so good!
- we had a church tour with a new friend and brought one of our members and both of them to eachother were like "i feel like we've been friends for forever" it was adorable
- had Zone conference which is always my favorite! we talked a lot about the blessing of obedience and how sometimes people think its restricting but its actually liberating and freeing. i was listening to a talk that talked about obedience and he said "When we read the Book of Mormon, we like to think that we are more like Nephi and Sam than like Laman and Lemuel, but are we?" What if they had given up when it was hard? They wouldnt have gotten to the promise land or gotten the blessings God had in store for them. Even though sometimes it seems like obedience is hard, dont give up. God has so many things in store for you
- WE WON CLEANEST CAR AWARD
- had exchanges with Sister parr in camarillo!!! (my aunt was out of town but we did break into her house and left a surprise). it was so fun and such a good day! ya know those people that you meet and you feel like youve known them your whole life? Thats sister parr. within the first 3 minutes i was like "so ya i guess thats why i feel like all my issues stem from that moment when i was 5" just kidding but you know what i mean. im so thankful the mission has brought me so many life long besties!!
- also had exchanges with sister evans! shes so cute and we laughed so hard and had some really bomb lessons!
- zone activity was awesome as predicted! we played kickball and pickleball and i dominated as usual (kidding, i did so bad) president was pretty competitive!
- had the 2nd best tacos of my life
gonna end with this amazing byu devotional by Brad Wilcox called His Grace is Sufficient https://speeches.byu.edu/ talks/brad-wilcox/his-grace- is-sufficient/
"Christ’s arrangement with us is similar to a mom providing music lessons for her child. Mom pays the piano teacher. Because Mom pays the debt in full, she can turn to her child and ask for something. What is it?
Practice! Does the child’s practice pay the piano teacher? No. Does the child’s practice repay Mom for paying the piano teacher? No. Practicing is how the child shows appreciation for Mom’s incredible gift. It is how he takes advantage of the amazing opportunity Mom is giving him to live his life at a higher level. Mom’s joy is found not in getting repaid but in seeing her gift used—seeing her child improve. And so she continues to call for practice, practice, practice.
But this practice has a different purpose than punishment or payment. Its purpose is change
“But Brother Wilcox, don’t you realize how hard it is to practice? I’m just not very good at the piano. I hit a lot of wrong notes. It takes me forever to get it right.” Now wait. Isn’t that all part of the learning process? When a young pianist hits a wrong note, we don’t say he is not worthy to keep practicing. We don’t expect him to be flawless. We just expect him to keep trying. Perfection may be his ultimate goal, but for now we can be content with progress in the right direction. The grace of Christ is sufficient—sufficient to cover our debt, sufficient to transform us, and sufficient to help us as long as that transformation process takes.
don’t quit. Keep trying. Don’t look for escapes and excuses. Look for the Lord and His perfect strength. Don’t search for someone to blame. Search for someone to help you. Seek Christ, and, as you do, I promise you will feel the enabling power we call His amazing grace. I leave this testimony and all of my love—for I do love you. As God is my witness, I love the youth of this church. I believe in you. I’m pulling for you. And I’m not the only one. Parents are pulling for you, leaders are pulling for you, and prophets are pulling for you. And Jesus is pulling with you"
