- did exchanges with sister hayes! she covers the santa maria ysa (all the young single adults) and we were a power duo! i hate talking to people my own age and in english and she hates talking to adults and in a different language so we grinded that day.
- also did exchanges with sister drumm and let me tell ya, everyone needs a sister drumm in their life! she'll make you feel like the funniest person ever and has the cutest laugh! 10/10 would recommend spending the day with her. we biked sooooooooo much
- theres a certain path we bike down and for some reason every time I just get so insanely grateful for my life and everything in it that I start shouting "I love bikes! I love that my body is able to bike! I love the sun! I love my friends! I love Jesus!" and it's highkey therapeutic
- sometimes i knock on a random door and ask if Juan lives there and then when they say no i say oh well whats your name and then bam they're trapped into learning about Jesus with me. one time we knocked a door and a woman answered and we asked if Juan lived there and she said no and we asked her name and she goes "Juana".
ill end with this thought from zone conference but sorry this was highkey boring ive given up at this point

in zone conference we talked about the story of Abish and i really loved what hermana rodriguez pointed out!
to recap this Book of Mormon story,
a man named Ammon and his brothers who were Nephites, went on a mission to teach the Lamanites. Basically the two groups weren’t on great terms, so it was a dangerous thing to go try and bring them the gospel. But Ammon impressed the lamanite King, and offered to be his servant. And he greatly impressed the king by protecting his sheep (if anyone wants the full story let me know cause it involves cutting-off-arms).
As King Lamoni began to learn and believe the gospel, he fell to the ground being overcome with the spirit and lay there such a long time that his servants thought he was dead. but His queen knew he wasnt dead and sought Ammons guidance. Later, the queen and everyone who was present also collapsed under the influence of the Spirit—except for this servant Abish. and the scriptures say
"she knew that it was the power of God; and supposing that this opportunity, by making known unto the people what had happened among them, that by beholding this scene it would cause them to believe in the power of God, therefore she ran forth from house to house, making it known unto the people."
we talked about a couple different things we can learn from this experience
how her faith empowered her to act immediately. She ran. we reflected on the question "are there areas in the gospel that we're walking instead of running?"
and also that she immediately ran so she could share what she knew with others.
and finally the spiritual gifts we all have. that everyone has different gifts and sometimes we compare ourselves to others. but even in just that short story about Abish i see so many gifts she had. she was believing in the testimony of others, she showed courage, and had so much faith. Sometimes our spiritual gifts are less noticeable (believing doesn’t have quite the visibility of healing or working miracles). but that doesnt mean they’re any less important. no matter who you are or what your circumstances might be you can influence so many people around you.
